What are the responsibilities and job description for the Janitor position at Samuel, Son & Co.?
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains cleanliness of offices, shop areas, and yards (Does not apply to organization or cleaning of yard inventory)
- Responsible for maintaining a cleanly facility by completing a variety of cleaning tasks
- Duties include mopping and vacuuming floors, cleaning surfaces with disinfectant and emptying trash cans or recycling bins
- Cleaning/Sanitizing bathrooms, kitchens, or other public areas
- Performing and documenting routine inspection and maintenance activities
- Looks for additional areas that cleanliness or additional sanitation could be achieved
- Makes recommendations to management as noted
- Maintains adequate inventory and keeps track of all janitorial supplies
- Inspects completed work for conformance to CAID standards/Covid protocols
- Suggests changes in methods and use of equipment to increase efficiency of janitorial staff
- Continually develops knowledge of housekeeping methods with respect to methods, supplies and equipment
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
1 year in a related industry/position
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to walk, stand, squat, bend, crawl, climb and reach
- Lifting to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work outside in adverse weather to include extreme heat and cold as needed
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Manufacturing environment: May be exposed to loud noises, changing temperatures, machinery with moving parts, and exotic materials
