About us

Sands Accounting, Inc. is a small accounting firm in Ligonier, IN specializing in payroll, accounting, and tax preparation.

We are looking for an Administrative Assistant to join our team and provide support to our staff and clients. The ideal candidate for this position will have excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks. The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including preparing client payrolls. scheduling payments, reconciling accounts, answering phones, scheduling appointments, and filing documents.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare client payrolls on a weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Schedule tax payments and direct deposits.
  • Reconcile payroll account.
  • Answer phones/greet visitors and direct them to the appropriate personnel.
  • Organize and maintain filing systems, both electronic and paper-based.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Schedule:

This is a job share position with roughly 16 hours per week (potentially 24 during tax season). Office hours are 8 to 4, Monday thru Thursday from April 16th to December 31st. During tax season, open daily (including Fridays) until 5, and Saturdays 9 to noon. Currently looking for someone to cover the morning shift from 8 to noon. Some flexibility available when determining schedule.
