Job Summary
The Event Manager is primarily responsible for planning, negotiating, and implementing service orders based on client needs for the Company. The Event Manager also serves as the primary point of contact for clients during events. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Expo policies, practices, and procedures.
Essential Functions

- Venetian Cares, Safe Street and Children’s Holiday Party
- Affiliate and ICW Support
- Presents information, negotiates, sells, and contracts for operational services for clients' events, including but not limited to electrical, set-up, telecom, rigging and lighting, sets, cleaning, and plumbing.
- Creates custom service orders based on contracted service needs of each client.
- Serves as primary conduit of information between client and technical services vendors, both internal and external; coordinates regarding client needs, service order specifics, changes, unique or unusual planning needs and adjusts as necessary to best meet contracted terms.
- Monitors and enforces that client follows the details and stipulations of the sales contract.
- Communicates with clients and adapts and responds to requests and changes and resolves client complaints.
- Collects client information related to billing, event times, locations, and on-site contacts.
- Prepares a cost estimate based on client needs.
- Communicates by phone, email, and face-to-face with The Venetian Resort and client conference managers regarding services and production schedules to ensure client needs are met.
- Schedules, prepares, and attends pre- and post-conference meetings as necessary.
- During events, serves as point of contact for clients and directs requests and questions to appropriate department for resolution.
- Checks dates, client information, ordered services and details of space used for final billing and confirms the accuracy of details.
- Maintains confidentiality of client information and safekeeps billing information.
- Host pre-con meetings internal and with the client as required.
- Schedule meetings with departments and clients.
- Review use of departmental tools.
- Audit files prior to turning into the Accounting department.
- Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.

Job Requirements and Qualifications
Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- One (1) or more years of experience as an event services manager working in a comparable convention space, with preference given to those with experience working in Las Vegas.
- Demonstrated experience creating, arranging, and completing service orders for convention space.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Must be able to work with others, communicate well, give direction, and relay information to vendors, clients, and business departments of varying backgrounds and levels of experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift or carry a minimum of 25 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks assigned.
- Must be able to work with others, communicate well, give direction, review the work of others, and provide guidance and counsel when needed to achieve department goals and objectives.
- Work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat potentially noisy environment. Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude while dealing effectively with guests, management, team members, and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
- Must be able to frequently move freely about the office, maintain manual dexterity to access computer via computer keyboard and operate office equipment, such as telephones, copiers, fax machine, etc., withstand various activities such as frequent walking, sitting for long periods and withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending and kneeling without restriction.
- Ability to work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to noise, dust, cigarette smoke, and be able to access all areas of the property.
Minimum Requirements:
- 18 years of age.
- Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain any required card, certification, or license as required by law or policy.
