Responsibilities
- Create and / or revise drawings of individual components, assemblies, schematics and diagrams.
- Utilize multiple CAD systems and programs (NX, AutoCAD, Medusa, Teamcenter and SAP) for the creation or revision of drawings.
- Competency in accurately reading and explaining drawings, both US and EU standards.
- Knowledge of GD&T.
- Maintain drawing databases and historical records.
- Creation of ECN’s for local drawing revisions as well as communication with the product company for any revisions needed in Teamcenter.
- Research and ensure adherence to MSHA approvals for pertinent product lines under inspection process.
- Knowledge of SAP to establish parts and BOM’s in the program.
- Participate in troubleshooting, investigating and solving technical problems that may arise in products.
- Explore opportunities for continuous product improvement.
- Effective communication and work relationships with colleagues both locally and globally.
- Review and discuss product designs with local engineering and product company engineering.
- Assist the Brier Hill facility with any issues and questions that may arise. This may include the gearcase, hydraulic, weld, assembly or service departments.
- Assist with management of local suppliers to ensure accurate manufacturing/repair of components.
- Gather quotations from suppliers for manufacturing purposes.
- Manage and lead special projects. Ex: New gearcase test center.
- Accurately measure parts using various instruments – micrometers, calipers, feeler gauges, flow meters, pressure gauges, multimeters, etc.
- Examine existing components for excessive wear and knowledge to determine if an item is suitable for mining operations.
- Follow existing inspection protocols and conduct pertinent inventory inspections.
- Manage and track Logistics Process System protocols for damaged/missing/incorrectly manufactured parts or components for both WIP inventory and Sales inventory.
- Conduct periodic inspections and create/upload reports for each inspection on all major overhauls conducted on site.
- Follow all EHS programs on site, and Factory quality standards.
- Work closely with procurement on addressing unsatisfactory goods/services.
- Knowledge and use of Salesforce for warranty claims.
- Effective communication locally and within the product company to recoup costs associated with warranty claims.
- Supervise and develop local QC technician.
