Accounting Associate

SHP’s accounting and finance department is looking for an Accounting Associate to support our Accounting group wherever needed. It is expected that this role will work across various areas of the accounting and finance group supporting A/P, A/R, and other areas as needed. This individual will work closely with our A/P & Payroll Analyst and our Revenue & Accounting Analyst. SHP uses Blackbaud FE for its accounting system, Salesforce for its donor management system, and Concur for our Expense reporting system. We are looking for an individual who likes working with Microsoft Excel, is skilled at importing and exporting large amounts of data, enjoys working with numbers and performing reconciliations, and wants to learn the Accounting & Finance function from the ground up.

This role will report to the Controller but will work closely and take direction from others in the Finance group.

Responsibilities

• Review, enter and upload vendor invoices into Accounting system (Blackbaud Financial Edge)
• Ensure approvals and coding has been received for all invoices.
• Process employee expense reports, code and enter invoices into Accounting system.
• Set invoices up for payment
• Assist in managing electronic A/P filing system and ensuring all documentation is in vendor and SHP employee folders.
• Research invoices and payment history for vendors and employees
• Ensure the accurate recording of all donations and donor records into our donor management and accounting systems (Blackbaud FE and Salesforce), including various web donation channels, checks, and electronic transfers 
• Review resulting revenue and cash entries with Revenue & Accounting Analyst

• Process recurring donation updates, cancellations, and refunds as needed.
• Perform various other accounting responsibilities as needed

• Proactive, highly resourceful, and intuitive
• Flexible and adaptable to fast-paced environment
• Experience working with Salesforce, CRM, or database management a plus
• 2+ years professional experience
