Job Description

 

Job Title:  American Sign Language Interpreter.

 

Based at:  

Madigan Army Medical Center (MAMC), Joint Base Lewis- McChord (JBLM),

Tacoma, Washington

 

Overview:  Sanford is looking for an Interpreter who has explicit Knowledge and good experience.

 

 Qualifications:

 

  1. Completion of the Center for the Assessment of Sign Language Interpretation (CASLI) exam.

 

  1. Complete an approved American Sign Language educational program.

 

  1. Analysis of cultural competence.

 

  1. Evaluation of medical-specific knowledge.

 

  1. Assessment of medical terminology & healthcare practices.

 

  1. ASL Interpreters are Nationally ASL Certified with one of the following credentials.

 

  1. Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, Inc. (RID).

 

  1. National Association of the Deaf (NAD).

 

  1. National Interpreter Certification (NIC).

 

Duties required by the position:

 

Work will be done in-person, or, when deemed appropriate by Madigan Army Medical Center, via Virtual Remote Interpreter (VRI) services.
