What are the responsibilities and job description for the Line Cooks position at Sanibel Captiva Beach Resorts LLC?
Description
Work as line cook with the chef and all staff in order to prepare, cook and present food according to hotel standard recipes in order to create quality food products.
Requirements
- Setting up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
- Preparing food for service (prep)
- Cooking menu items following the Chefs recipes and instructions in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
- Answer, report and follow executive or sous chefs instructions
- Clean up station and take care of leftover food
- Receive and put away products or order that have been delivered in walk-in cooler, freezer and dry storage
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
- Comply with sanitation regulations and safety standards / ensures safe and sanitary food-handling
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
- Maintains a rotation system whereby food is used on a first-in, first-out basis; and verifies that all food products are properly dated and organized for quality assurance.
- Keeps all cooking stations stocked, especially before and during prime operating hours.
- Provides guidance to junior kitchen staff members, including - but not limited to - line cooking, food preparation and dish plating.
- Participates in the set-up of banquet presentations
- Clean workstation and kitchen at the end of the shift
