About us Reporting to the Project Director (North America), the Senior Project Manager will be responsible for all aspects of project lifecycle. He/she must manage internal and external resources, schedules, financials and adhere to control guidelines throughout the full project life cycle. This manager will be accountable and responsible for delivering projects within the US plants. As a secondary responsibility, the latter will have to continuously improve our internal project management procedures and processes along with leading our team of project managers in the US. What we offer: A dynamic and inclusive work environment where your ideas are valued Opportunities for professional growth and development Competitive compensation package, including performance based bonuses Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and retirement plans Work on projects that make a proven positive difference in our communities and the environment Main responsibilities and specific tasks: Assist in the preparation and editing of the annual capital expenditure plans, i.e. upcoming projects including conditions, budgets and schedule Establish, track and drive project specific and organizational (project management related) goals and objectives Identify the appropriate resources needed and establish timelines to ensure that tasks within projects are completed in a timely manner, and communicate to all parties the timing and correlation between tasks Ensure the project team's commitment to the established schedule and communicate important points to the team: expectations, understanding of the project, key phases and expected results Monitor and communicate the status of the project regularly to all stakeholders Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as operations, maintenance, outside consultants, contractors and other staff to ensure project deliverable are delivered quickly and efficiently Identify, communicate and manage risks, solve problems and manage crises effectively and with maturity Create enthusiasm for the project and establish a collaborative work environment while holding team members accountable for the required results Foster a culture of safety, sustainability and innovation in all your daily operations Establish a climate in which people are encouraged to maximize their strengths and skills and encourage continuous improvement and continuous learning Achieve the objectives of the project in the best possible way by demonstrating project control, presenting a clear and honest picture of the progress of the project, obtaining the participation and support of key stakeholders (usually plant operations) to make any necessary changes or adjustments Develop Sanimax’ US Project Management team by motivating, mentoring, coaching and empowering less experienced project managers in the US so they reach their full potential The candidate will also be involved in the development of organizational and leadership initiatives. Travel can be up to 30% of the time depending on the priorities of the organization within the plants in the US or Canada – mostly US. Requirements Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or other related university degrees / equivalent A minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in plant project management, maintenance or a related field Ability to lead a team by being a good and effective communicator Excellence in building rapport and creating a team environment where all those with project responsibilities work well together Ability to maintain a high level of organization by ensuring daily job allocation Excellence in planning how each process should be done, how resources are to be acquired, and when the project should be completed Ability to determine potential risks while devising proactive ways to solve them Excellence in the budgeting of financial resources Ability to welcome feedback and use it to improve the quality of production Excellence in verbal and oral communication skills Experienced in all aspects of engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning project management The candidate must have established skills in field work and/or brownfield conditions The candidate must believe, abide by and embody Sanimax mission, vision and values Experience in managing industrial projects in the process field (liquid or solid) would be an asset A PMP Certification (Project Manager Professional) would be an asset Experience in process control would be an asset Personal qualities required Industry leading safety culture Team Oriented Intellectually curious / creative/ innovative yet analytical Organized, rigorous and autonomous Motivated, engaged, committed and loyal Give meaning to your career and help us make a difference: become a transformation champion!
