Position Summary
The Clinical Safety & Quality Specialist represents and conserves the Safety and Quality programs standards and follows the established company protocols. This role works under the direction of the Clinical Safety & Quality Lead. The Clinical Safety & Quality Specialist supports the Sanitas management and leadership teams by performing site audits and delivers to local core leadership (Manager, Medical Director and Charge Nurse) the corresponding improvement plans to help the sites meet the Safety and Quality Program goals, policies and standards. Ensure compliance with Keralty Quality and Safety standards so that our users receive the best care and service experience, through current regulations for licensing and subsequent accreditation.

- Coordinates and supports quality and safety activities and projects assigned by the Safety and Quality Program Lead or administrative designee.
- Performs scheduled routine safety walkthroughs and unannounced audits at all Sanitas USA facilities and submits reports to local (Manager, Medical Director and Charge Nurse) and Clinical Safety & Quality Lead which include identification of areas of improvement opportunity
- Evaluate the quality and safety standards for Keralty care, through the implementation of the tool.
- Support the implementation of the Quality and Safety Program in order to guarantee the proper functioning of the processes that involve the area of quality in health and safety of people.
- Disseminate, with the support of the strategic leaders of the companies, the policies, quality standards and guidelines defined by the CHIO in order to ensure their implementation and compliance.
- Provide support to the training and/or awareness required in quality and safety for assistance and administrative collaborators.
- Execute quality and safety training rounds with the participation of the facilities local core leadership, as well as collaborators facing the patient to give them the tools needed for their official audits.
- Fill out and monitor the indicators for quality and safety; through monitoring for compliance and follow-up of the goals set.
- Collaborates with other departments including risk management, infection prevention, regulatory, data analytics, education and operations to achieve improved outcomes.
- Establishes and maintains an open and positive working relationship with physicians, nurses and allied leaders and team members.
- Works with the leadership team to develop a culture and practice environment that embraces quality and patient safety and follows the requirements of the various regulatory agencies.
- Works collaboratively with the Clinical Safety & Quality Lead to implement quality and safety initiatives for the company.
- Facilitate and promote the participation and empowerment of healthcare and administrative collaborators, patients, families, students, providers and the community, to strengthen the culture of quality and safety.
- Promote the culture of patient safety through the timely reporting of incidents and/or adverse events, analysis and generation of improvement plans.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Required Education and Experience
- Active clear state Nurse License/LPN
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- Masters in the science field can be presented in lieu of License (Foreign Professional Nurse or Physician)
- 2 years outpatient primary care setting
- Proficient in GSuite
- Fluent written and spoken communication in English and Spanish
- Travel is required most of the time >50%
- CPR-BLS required
Preferred Education and Experience
- 3 year in primary and urgent care setting
- Bachelor of Nursing preferred
- Experience in implementing patient safety and quality program
- Experience with regulatory bodies standards (AHCA, JC, HFAP, ISO, OSHA, PCMH)
- Knowledge of state scope of practices of nursing and of Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP)
- Proficient in eClinicalWorks
- Worked independently
- ACLS preferred
