What are the responsibilities and job description for the Co-op Neuroscience position at Sanofi?
SUMMARY
We are seeking an undergraduate student to be part of a team focused on gene therapy for neurological diseases in the Genomic Medicine Unit. The successful candidate will support the development of gene therapy strategies targeting the central nervous system and enable successful translation of pre-clinical gene therapy programs to a clinical setting. This position will offer a student the opportunity to learn about the drug development process while gaining hands-on experience in laboratory research.
Specifically, the candidate will be expected to:
- Perform routine scientific procedures and execute experiments according to detailed protocols
- Perform experiments in a timely fashion to meet deadlines
- Maintain detailed records of sample use, experimental procedures, raw and analyzed data
- Work collaboratively within a core team
- Communicate regularly with lab members to share data and troubleshoot protocols
- Support laboratory operations (reagent ordering, sample shipment, equipment maintenance)
The successful candidate will:
- Be a MS candidate enrolled in a Neuroscience, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or related biomedical program; Exceptional junior/senior BS students will also be considered
- Have a strong background in cellular and molecular biology
- Be familiar with scientific concepts such as PCR and IHC, as well as statistical analysis
- Demonstrate organization and attention to detail when executing experiments
- Display curiosity, a willingness to learn, and an investigative orientation
- Adapt to changes in experimental goals to support project priorities
- Foster creativity and productivity
