What are the responsibilities and job description for the REVENUE AUDITOR position at Santa Ana Star Casino?
The Revenue Auditors duties include gaming, Class III; non-gaming; and regulatory compliance. This includes all slot auditing, slot analysis, and machine performance on a daily and monthly basis. The audit consists of daily vault reconciliation, document verification, procedure compliance, and daily report and income creation.
Major Responsibilities/Activities:
- Performs daily casino revenue audits, including but not limited to the vault and all banks, cash summaries, journals for entry and related revenue reports for management.
- Performs the slot machine audit using the slot audit checklist, which includes reconciliation of computer slot reports to actual cash drops, jackpots, fills, voids, and meter readings.
- Reconciles statistical slot performance reports to historical results and daily reports.
- Maintains current and statistical slot machine information that includes daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
- Records all exception findings in an exception log.
- Ensures all 1042’s (Foreign Withholdings) are posted properly and all documentation is accurate. Prepares weekly transmission of funds based on withholding amounts.
- Prepare schedule of all 945 withholdings (non-payroll) and maintain back up for year-end filing.
- Reconciles the daily posting of the W2G’s to ensure proper documentation on all jackpots over $1,200.00.
- Maintains the daily W2G file for year-end filing.
- Responds to all W2G, win/loss statement, and 1099 questions by patrons.
- Ensures all giveaways have proper 1099 documentation.
- Maintains log on all 1099’s, as well as, all backup documentation pertaining to winnings.
- Maintains a log of all correspondence (phone calls, written etc…) regarding tax issues.
- Performs daily audit for food, beverage, gift shop, bowling and other non-gaming revenue including reconciliation of register, computer or manual reports to cash, charges, gift certificates, pay outs, and voided transactions.
- Performs daily audits to determine the accuracy of all documentation, balancing at the end of each shift or day, and accounts for all supporting documentation.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
- Preference is given to qualified Santa Ana Tribal members.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Two (2) or more years of hospitality audit experience with casino audit experience preferred.
- Accounting experience is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate with multiple levels of management.
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Must have advanced Computer capabilities.
- Must be 10-key proficient.
- Must have knowledge of spreadsheet software and word processing software with use of Microsoft products including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access preferred.
- Knowledge of financial software systems required with use of Infinium software preferred.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Pueblo of Santa Ana Gaming and Regulatory Commission key gaming license.
