Job Summary
The Quality Control Technician II Incoming Material Inspector performs routine inspection of incoming raw materials and packaging material. This position requires inspection skills with attention to detail while performing product and/or packaging inspections. The Quality Control Technician II Incoming Material Inspector collaborates with a team of professionals, production staff and leaders to ensure highest quality levels of all company products.
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform inspection of incoming raw materials and packaging components according to specified inspection plan.
Collect necessary samples and ensure samples are packaged and shipped for third party testing as needed.
Verify product, packaging materials and labels meet all documented specifications.
Perform incoming material testing as needed consisting of Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) and percent solids testing using a refractometer.
Ensure and enforce compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), company and other regulatory requirements.
Collect and process finished product samples.
Track and report label & bag usage, cases produced and investigate discrepancies.
Assist in the maintenance site inventory through monitoring of expiry dates on materials and components.
Use internal systems (AMAPS and SharePoint) to hold or release product, including scanning products using QR codes.
Perform scale and weight suitability checks, along with other product measurements, as outlined in approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions (WIs).
Document all work in accordance with government regulations and company procedures.
Required Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
2 years of technical Quality Control experience.
Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Ability to effectively communicate in English both verbally and in written form.
Preferred Qualifications
Degree or professional certification in a relevant field.
Experience in testing materials using FTIR and refractometer.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
