Children’s Ministry Director
Overarching Vision, Goals & Context
Santa Rosa Christian Church believes being a multi-generational church in the heart of our city is part of God’s call on us. This includes having a thriving and growing Children’s Ministry that reflects Jesus’s heart for children and families. Our goal for the Children's Ministry is to provide a place where children fall in love with Jesus and are nurtured in a growing relationship with him. Included is reaching out to the families in our community with the love of Christ. Doing so provides what families are looking for, a safe life-giving spiritual home where each member is loved, encouraged and called up into who they are as sons and daughters of God.
The Children’s Ministry Director will provide the chief visionary leadership and oversight of the Children’s Ministry of Santa Rosa Christian Church (birth – 5th grade).
Responsibilities ❖ Work With
➢ Lead Pastor: Meet monthly to ensure alignment of Children’s Ministry with the vision of SRCC, review strategic plans and goals in the pursuit of excellence in ministry
➢ Youth Minister: Coordinating to assimilate students from elementary age into middle school and build healthy relationships with parents
➢ Office Manager: Publication, printing, and church calendar
➢ Teaching team: As able and when appropriate, coordinate with adult programs and teachings
➢ Staff: A part of the greater SRCC family, bring and receive support events/ministries
❖ Responsible For (directly or through delegation)
➢ Children’s Ministry development
■ Cast vision and mission for the Children’s Ministry at SRCC
■ Find (or develop) a curriculum that will foster children’s relationship with Jesus, who they are to him and who they are becoming for one another
■ Develop a strategic plan to ensure the Children’s Ministry will continue to meet the growing needs of SRCC as well as reaching out through evangelism to the broader community
➢ Providing team leadership to Children’s Ministry
■ Recruit new individuals to join the team
■ Shepherd the volunteer leaders by providing care, encouragement (meetings as needed) to train and equip, including connecting relationally
■ Clear communication regarding volunteer expectations and direction of the ministry
➢ Providing practical and administrative leadership to the Children’s Ministry
■ Schedule children’s ministry volunteers using Planning Center
■ Ensure sufficient supplies are in each classroom and the Sunday School supply room
■ Maintain the classrooms and hallways, including seasonal decor, photos in rooms, and reporting to the Lead Pastor physical needs of Edu. wing
■ Ensure curriculum is sufficient for each respective classroom and age group
■ Use Planning Center to manage the children’s ministry at SRCC effectively, including maintaining registrations of children
■ Ensure SRCC’s Policies and Procedures for the Prevention of Child Abuse are understood and followed
■ Ensure background checks for all regular volunteers are submitted and accepted on Planning Center
■ Maintain Teacher Applications
■ Sunday mornings arrive early to ensure rooms are ready, heaters on followed by welcoming families, including overseeing check-in procedures and maintaining iPads. After service, make sure rooms are left ready for the next use.

Qualifications and Expectations
❖ A personal growing relationship with Jesus Christ and an ability to seek and hear direction from him in ministry
❖ An exemplary level of maturity and commitment to Christ
❖ Previous children’s ministry experience preferred
❖ Commitment to the SRCC body outside of children’s ministry, including attending weekly Sunday services, supporting body-wide initiatives, and active involvement in a small group
❖ Present at corporate church events and services as well as regular staff meetings and retreats as able
❖ Acceptance and support of SRCC’s statement of faith, vision, mission, and values
Compensation (20 Hours per week)
