WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
The primary function of the Associate, Internal Controls is to execute complex Internal Controls testing. The Supervisor must perform testing in a timely manner, ensuring all Internal Controls quality standards are met, and courteous and professional behavior is observed in all situations.
Essential Functions:
- Examines business records and collects information, exercises independent judgment in identifying issues and assessing risk; formulates findings and presents results to the relevant Internal Controls manager/leader.
- Executes control design assessments and operating effectiveness testing over SOX areas ranging in complexity as part of Internal Controls' SOX testing activities.
- Documents Internal Controls testing and follow-up tasks in accordance with relevant Internal Controls standards.
- Provides consistent and high-quality service to both internal and external stakeholders (including external auditors as part of the Company's SOX control reliance initiatives).
- Collaborates with applicable team members and leaders to design and revise or implement SOX control testing procedures.
- Communicates and coordinates with the Company's SOX program co-sourcing partner in any applicable shared areas of assignment.
- May perform some review of completed work from internal or co-sourcing entity personnel, at department leadership's discretion.
- Ensures fieldwork and other deliverables are completed within the budgeted timeframe.
- Demonstrates proactivity in internal training and other professional development courses.
- Completes continuing learning courses to maintain professional certification(s), as applicable.
- Completes other tasks and ad hoc duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Education -
- Bachelor's Degree: Accounting, Finance, or similarly relevant equivalent field of study.
- Experience -
- 3-5 years of Public Accounting, Audit, or Internal Controls.
- 4-7 years of relevant Finance/Accounting experience.
- Skills & Abilities -
- Analytical and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to work with limited direct oversight
- Strong technology and computer skills, with the ability to effectively use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Detail-orientated with strong organizational skills
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Time management skills and the ability to complete multiple projects simultaneously and in a timely manner.
- Solid interpersonal skills with the ability to resolve conflicts in a constructive manner
- Demonstrated leadership and teambuilding skills
- Proficiency in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards
- Licenses & Certifications (preferred, not required)
- CPA - Certified Public Accountant
- CIA - Certified Internal Auditor
- CFE - Certified Fraud Examiner
- CBA - Certified Bank Auditor
