Position Description
Responsible for providing technical, operational, and administrative support to selected right-of-way vegetation maintenance programs associated with contract services and high voltage transmission lines.
Essential Job Tasks:
Provides logistical and administrative support for herbicide maintenance activities that utilize contract service resources.
Monitors contractors performance based on quality, production, and work/contract specifications adherence.
Reports deficiencies to supervision and makes recommendations to mitigate any found issues.
Ensures daily/weekly progress reports are completed and signed by the appropriate personnel.
Reconciles accuracy of reports through field inspections and acknowledge with a signature that work was completed per work specifications and enters progress reports into an electronic corporate repository (ECM).
Inspects transmission rights-of-way vegetation and ground conditions for atypical growth situations and/or special maintenance requests.
Recommends the most effective vegetation maintenance practice necessary to complete the work.
Reviews applicable transmission easements to determine any access and/or vegetation maintenance restrictions.
Interacts with property owners as required by the easement and/or through prior commitments.
Responds to property owner issues and provides a detailed assessment to supervision.
Position Requirements
Will consider Forester I or II
Forester II
Bachelor's Degree in Forestry 2 years of forestry land management experience.
Forestry Land Management and Vegetation management experience utilizing herbicides on electrical rights-of-way is preferred.
Must acquire a South Carolina Pesticide Applicators License (Category 5 & 6) within six months from date of hire and be registered with the State Board of Registration for Foresters.
Forestry Land Management and Vegetation management experience utilizing herbicides on electrical rights-of-way is preferred.
Must acquire a South Carolina Pesticide Applicators License (Category 6) within six (6) months from date of hire. Must be registered with the State Board of Registration for Foresters within 18 months of hire.
