About the Team

The Value Advisory team helps companies transform by articulating long-term business/technology strategy; creating iron-clad business cases to justify the necessary technology investments; and building strategic roadmaps for execution. Internally, the VA team collaborates with large cross-functional project teams on high-profile customer engagements; develops thought leadership for SAP; and networks with a global VE organization that is the envy of every other global software company. Successful Value Advisors provide expert consultation to showcase how SAP’s solutions and technology enable the processes and capabilities that deliver the customer’s strategy and vision.


Job Description and Expectations

SAP is seeking a VP responsible for leading a team aligned to the East Market Unit at SAP North America. This role is accountable for pipeline and revenue.


You will partner with sales leadership to identify revenue opportunities, create account strategies, and ensure coverage of strategic accounts and opportunities. With your team, you are responsible for coordinating the delivery of value advisory services to support customer transformation agendas and business process performance improvement programs. You will personally sponsor and lead transformational engagements with customers, and manage the creation of high quality customer deliverables with compelling value propositions. You will identify and scale best practices with your peers in the South as well as in North America and beyond.


As a people manager, you are responsible for modeling SAP values, and supporting the success of your direct reports by helping to identify development opportunities and supporting team members to achieve their goals. You will be a member of the leadership team of Value Advisory North America.


Responsibilities include:

  • Provide executive deal support and sponsorship to the field on strategic, must win accounts. Lead efforts to identify and prioritize IVE engagements with the highest impact, in close alignment with sales leadership priorities. Grow revenue and pipeline by driving adoption of standardized approaches for value-based sales activities.
  • Continue to establish value as a natural component of the sales process with the sales teams on an industry basis.
  • Establish goals, strategy and KPI’s for the team and clearly communicate objectives. Conduct continual performance management cycles in a timely and thoughtful manner and actively coach and provide feedback to direct reports and beyond.
  • Pro-actively drive collaboration across the organization with sales, solution advisory, enterprise architects, and more.
  • Recruit and retain top talent into the organization.
  • Continually develop the practice of value advisory through ideas for enhancement of methodology, toolsets, and practices.
  • Develop SAP's brand through thought leadership delivered through social media and events.


Qualifications

  • Proven consultative selling engagement experience: identify the need, design, sell and lead the engagement with the customer.
  • Advanced knowledge of C- level decision making process management, including business case development.
  • Demonstrated leadership in leading and developing high performing teams; excellent mentoring skills.
  • Proven ability to connect with executives and other team members.
  • Exemplary communication skills with a strong emphasis on synthesis and simply representing complex scenarios.
  • Strategic thinker, with proven track record of executing against strategy.
  • Minimum 15 years of professional experience in value-based selling or sales support, operations- or management- consulting. Some sales or sales support experience required.
  • Experience in diverse technology landscapes and process/technology integration, SAP technologies preferred.
  • MBA or equivalent degree required from a top University.
