What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified OT Assistant position at Sargent Rehabilitation Center?
The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant assists in the delivery of coordinated, comprehensive occupational therapy services for students with disabilities. The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant will provide services necessary to fulfill the student’s individual goals and objectives under the supervision of a registered Occupational Therapist.
Responsibilities
Program
A. To design and implement goal-oriented treatment programs and design treatment activities when indicated for individuals and/or groups.
B. To document student progress throughout the course of treatment and document
these findings within progress reports.
C. To provide behavioral management intervention according to agency policy.
D. To provide consultation services to other professionals/families/agencies working on combined goals.
E. To participate in inservice training and dissemination of information in the area of occupational therapy to the school staff, families, and LEAs.
F. To participate in transition planning for students.
Administration
A. Maintain work schedule and treatment schedule.
B. Assume responsibility for accurate and timely progress monitoring.
C. Accurate and timely submission of documentation.
D. Accurately maintain student records.
E. Actively participate in scheduled staff meetings including full staff, professional, development and supervision.
Accountability
The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant shall be supervised by a registered Occupational Therapist and be directly responsible to the Director of Special Education.
