SUMMARY
Under the overall direction of the Shipping Supervisor/Team Leader, is responsible for putting orders together to be shipped out during the week, loading orders onto trailers in an efficient manner, locating product to be picked for orders in the distribution center, and receiving finished product into warehouse management system.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned including backing up the DC Automation Attendant Position.
Knows how to find and use programs on RF equipment to perform warehouse management job duties.
Pick orders in a timely manner and prevent product damage.
Stage made-up orders and locate product to be picked for orders which includes finished product from other plants.
Read a trip manifest and figure amount of pallet positions for each order.
Operate stretch wrappers properly.
Load trailers correctly – proper weight distribution, prevent product damage, load lock placement, and required equipment in as timely manner.
Follow company-related SOP’s.
Forklift certified and operates equipment in a safe manner.
Receives finished product into warehouse management system.
Demonstrates good communication skills.
Respects others.
Follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).
Follow all safety rules.
Operate pallet inverter.
Yard spotter duties as assigned
Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Support continuous improvement efforts.
Support and perform duties assigned by team leader, supervisor, and/or manager.
Operate dock plates and dock locks correctly.
Use compressed air lines and air guns properly for air bag usage.
Operate order label printers.
Maintain supply of empty Sargento and PECO wood pallets in distribution center.
Empty bays for storage.
Follow the Sargento Code of Business and Personal Ethics.
Regular and reliable attendance.
Actively able to perform essential job functions as determined by Human Resources.
All other duties assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
Must be full-time enrolled College/University student.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
