SAS EVAAS is one of the nation’s leading implementation experts of growth or value-added model and predictive analytic solutions in the K-12 educational field. EVAAS is SAS' Educational Visualization and Analytics Solution for both state education and local education agencies. Underlying this comprehensive reporting system are robust statistical methodologies and procedures that produce the analytics released to hundreds of thousands of teachers in the US. SAS currently supports seven states in their implementations of these systems utilizing millions of students’ testing data over decades of time. These analyses can be used informally for school improvement as well as for more formal high stakes measures of federal or state accountability, evaluation and/or merit pay.
The EVAAS team is looking for a Sr. Associate Test Engineer. This role provides SAS programming and data quality assurance to internal and external customers for the SAS EVAAS product and support data acquisitions, validation, and management of incoming data sources. Your duties will include performing data quality checks on all phases of data management and data analysis. You will write SAS code and macros to assist in data validation and integrity checks. You will need to be able to translate business requirements into analytic methods and verify the output of analytic models. Your duties will also include developing SAS or other code to automate testing processes to produce consistent and reliable results. You’ll also maintain a proficiency in the use of Base SAS software, SAS/STAT procedures, and statistical add-on SAS products
As a Test Engineer, you will:
- Utilize your SAS, SQL, Powershell and other skills to write highly reliable and tested code
- Design code and develop processes used in testing and quality assurance of EVAAS data and web application
- Work with other highly skilled and diverse staff of testers, analysts, and developers to drive the future of the EVAAS web application
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent field
- Requires 5 years of experience writing software applications, testing software, and/or general programming
- Experience programming in SAS
- Experience and desire to develop and deliver quality testing solutions Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent verbal, written communication skills
- An equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SAS macro language
- Experience programming in SQL, Powershell
- Experience working with Git or other distributed version control systems
- Experience with APIs, VBA, and other related tools
