Surgery Scheduler Care Coordinator Licensed Vocational Nurse
Job Summary: As a Surgery Scheduler Care Coordinator Licensed Vocational Nurse, you will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling surgical procedures for patients under the direction of healthcare providers. You will work closely with patients, physicians, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure proper scheduling, preparation, and follow-up care for surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Schedule surgeries and coordinate pre-operative and post-operative care for patients.
2. Communicate with patients to provide information about their surgical procedures, including pre-operative instructions and post-operative care.
3. Coordinate with healthcare providers, surgeons, and other medical staff to ensure all necessary arrangements are made for surgeries.
4. Ensure all required documentation, consent forms, and medical records are complete and accurate.
5. Assist in obtaining pre-authorization and insurance verification for surgical procedures.
6. Coordinate with other departments such as anesthesia, operating room, and recovery room to ensure smooth transitions for patients.
7. Provide support and guidance to patients and their families throughout the surgical process.
8. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
9. Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure quality patient care and positive outcomes.
10. Participate in continuous training and professional development to stay current with healthcare regulations and best practices.
Qualifications:
1. Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
2. Previous experience in a surgical setting or as a surgery scheduler is preferred.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
5. Knowledge of medical terminology and surgical procedures.
