Job Posting for Tax Accountant at Satellite Communication Technology client
Client has an exciting opportunity for a Tax Accountant. This position will be located at our Gaithersburg, MD.
Responsibilities:
Support various special projects and assist with ad hoc tax assignments as needed in all areas of tax, including assistance with research & development studies, oversight of the fixed assets tax ledger, tax notice correspondence, etc.
Support sales and use tax return processing including monthly return administration, tax and business licenses, resale certificates, and file maintenance.
Assist with Sales, use, and property tax notices, audits and appeals
Filing in-house personal property tax returns, checking assessments and paying tax bills.
Perform account reconciliations.
Assist in the preparation of federal and state income tax returns
Basic Requirements:
Bachelors in Accounting
1-3 years of experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to exercise judgment with defined procedures and practices
Demonstrate proactive behavior/involvement to make recommendations and facilitate decision making
Familiarity with OneSource Tax Provision Software, CorpTax, Sage Fixed Assets, and Vertex tax software is a plus
Ability to write tax position papers and technical memos to support Company's tax positions

Salary: $85,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
