The primary responsibility of the Operations Supervisor will be to perform duties throughout the coke handling system in the areas of the Delayed Coker Unit, bridge crane, rail systems, marine dock, and conveyor systems. Primary responsibilities include performing daily rounds, monitoring employee status and performance, conducting audits, communicating with the customer on daily events, attending meetings, maintaining documentation, enforcing safety rules and regulations, and assisting the Operations Manager with daily operation of the facility. The primary responsibility of the Operations Supervisor will be to perform duties throughout the coke handling system in the areas of the Delayed Coker Unit, bridge crane, rail systems, marine dock, and conveyor systems. Primary responsibilities include performing daily rounds, monitoring employee status and performance, conducting audits, communicating with the customer on daily events, attending meetings, maintaining documentation, enforcing safety rules and regulations, and assisting the Operations Manager with daily operation of the facility. This operation is located within the ExxonMobil Refinery.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all Team Members follow proper safety rules and operating procedures and facilitate corrective action, as needed
- Steward Exxon’s LPS system with the team
- Practice Exxon’s Life Saving Rules
- Extensive knowledge of coke cutting equipment and conveyor operating techniques
- Extensive knowledge of rail operation and barge loading operation
- Daily audits mechanical equipment
- Issuing work orders to ensure mechanical equipment is properly maintained
- Effective communication with all parties involved via radio or any other means of communication including the Customer
- Working with maintenance to assist with jobs in which additional manpower is needed
- Knowledge and initial coordination of the Emergency Action Plan
- Competent use and enforcement of all required PPE up to and including breathing air
- Responding to any unsafe or out of place event or condition immediately
- Completing and filing all necessary documentation as required including JSA's, permits, log entries, safety meetings, audit sheets, daily check sheets, etc.
- Delegate the removal of trash and debris from all areas of responsibility including structures, offices, restrooms, break rooms, vehicles, etc.
- Assist with training of Team Members
- Conduct and document frequent safety and toolbox meetings
- Assist the Operations Manager with facility issues, Team Member coaching and disciplinary actions
- Maintain company objectives and expectations in the absence of the Operations Manager or other Savage Leadership
- Experience in bulk materials, conveyor systems, and heavy equipment
- Experience interacting with an hourly, salary and customer-based workforce
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the Company and its insurers
- Efficient with standard office software programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, SAP)
- Must be available for duty after hours including holidays and weekends as required
- Must be willing to carry a company phone
- Ability to manage confidential issues
- Valid TWIC Card
- Must be able to meet customer requirements for site entry via criminal background screening and drug screen.
- High School Diploma required
- 3 to 5 years of Supervisory experience
