Major Purpose:
The Fleet Maintenance Manager will work closely with our DOT Facility leadership teams. This will include working with our Equipment and Procurement teams, in Midvale UT. This role will help identify equipment needs and potential changes. Will assist team with specification review during the purchasing process. Review and maintain regulatory compliance with and maintaining DOT equipment and facilities nationwide.
Responsibilities / Job Duties:
Monitor all performance metrics and work with site leaders to drive improvement
Lead the overall DOT related equipment & facility maintenance for the Industrial and Agricultural Industry Units
Continue the implementation and training on the use of our CMMS system (Manager ).
Understand OEM software such as Mack-Volvo Assist, Paccar Service Management, Paccar Solutions. These are web-based service management system that let fleet managers and service providers work together in real time to expedite repairs and maximize uptime.
Develop a working relationship with the Regional General Managers on equipment and maintenance needs within their region
Continue to develop National and Regional maintenance accounts which will streamline our overall maintenance program.
Develop and lead preventative maintenance best practices for our operations.
Ensure all work is performed in compliance with regulatory requirements and documented best practices. This includes pre-shift inspections and preventative maintenance
Lead the safety culture, ensures team members follow proper safety rules, maintenance and operating procedures.
Review and verify critical parts list by operations and region.
Establish a working relationship with equipment vendors on warranty and service items, monitor timeliness of repair activities.
Assist in training and verification of inspections and preventative maintenance procedures
Participate in S7 and maintenance audits
Ability to schedule work and plan schedules to accommodate production
Requirements/Qualifications:
Knowledge and experience using computer-based maintenance management software (CMMS).
Extensive knowledge of diesel trucks, pneumatic, dry bulk, liquid bulk, and van trailers.CDL license preferred.Creative and strategic in approaching issues. Not afraid to challenge the status quo
Ability to read and comprehend maintenance manuals, electrical schematic, and diagramsComputer and internet savvy including the Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to troubleshoot and diagnose problems in-person and remotely.Possess a strong record of continuous improvement, personal development, and attention to detail
Education/Experience:
Background in planning, scheduling, and overseeing large maintenance programs
8 years in Transportation or DOT Supply Chain operations
3 years in Fleet Maintenance leadership preferred
Experience applying safety regulations and written procedures.
Technical training certificate or some college education preferred
Physical Requirements:
Able to travel 50% of the year at week long intervals.
Helping establish best practices and train team members while on site.
Must be comfortable working in multiple shop and field areas as required, including office environments.
Able to Lift 50 lbs and utilize basic shop tools
