What You'll Do in This Position
This is a limited-service employment position in which apprentices will be hired for a period of up to 24 months to complete on-the-job training (OJT) under the guidance of a Contracts and Supply Chain Management (C&SCM) qualified professional.
The C&SCM Apprentice will be introduced to Contracts and Supply Chain Management functions at the entry level. There is no guarantee of future full-time employment upon completion of the program.
Major Responsibilities
Learn how to perform the following while under the instruction of a qualified Contracts & Supply Chain Management professional :
Must be physically able to evacuate facility and / or area during an emergency.
Perform administrative / staff support services.
Obtain / maintain proficiency on company designated systems / applications for processing work.
Compile, store, and retrieve contracts and supply chain data using a computer.
Complete training requirements as required by the company.
Perform other duties as assigned.
The C&SCM Apprentice will be introduced to Contracts and Supply Chain Management functions at the entry level to support the C&SCM functional areas to include Contracts, Warehouse Operations, Property Management, Procurement, Inventory, Information Systems and Analytics, and Integration Management.
Learn to perform entry level life cycle assignments (e.g., warehouse, property, purchasing, facility, systems, etc.).
Warehouse Operations includes Central Warehouse Operations (Receiving, Delivery and Warehouse), Material Access Centers (MACs), Storage for Others (SFO), Excess I Salvage Operations and the SRS Mail Services.
The safe and compliant functions we supply are of the following activities include receiving, warehousing, long term storage, delivery, shipping, and excess / salvage.
The Property Life Cycle - acquisition through disposition - includes : equipment receipt / marking / retirement, inventories and validations, property record adjustments via Asset Management Information System (AMIS), loans and transfers, property program oversight (e.
g. Asset Management Specialists (AMS), Precious Metals, Tool Control, etc.), property policies and procedures, excess and salvage operations and excess of chemicals.
Material & Service Acquisition (Buyers, PRs, MAs) ensures that customers have goods and services necessary to achieve SRS missions.
Policy & Compliance ensures compliance with the rules and regulations of the Contract and oversight agencies, and company policies and procedures are being followed.
Performs, as a generalist, a variety of administrative functions and supports / assists administrative, technical, and / or management personnel.
The successful candidate's tasks will have day-to-day management oversight.
The work schedule will consist of 20 hours per week of paid OJT at SRNS. OJT will occur two days per week and will consist of field time working with industry professionals in the areas of Property, Inventory, Warehousing, Receipt & Deliver, & Procurement and Operations combined with regulatory instruction required to perform industrial work at SRS.
Security Clearance Information
SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications.
Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.
S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and / or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance.

Qualifications We Require
High School Diploma, GED, or other equivalent State Credential
Qualifications We Desire
Must be a full-time student at an accredited four-year college or university, or within one year after finishing a degree program.
Data analysis skills with familiarity with various MS office products; can self-manage themselves with daily check points from an assigned coach.
Must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5.
