Director, IT Infrastructure
Summary:
The Director, IT Infrastructure is a senior role within the Savers IT organization providing leadership and technical expertise across critical infrastructure services for the largest thrift retailer in North America. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the Director, IT Infrastructure, a member of the Information Technology senior leadership team, is responsible for the design, implementation and operations for all of the company’s technology infrastructure components including data center, cloud, service management, end user computing, advanced telephony solutions, data and voice networks supporting a global operation across U.S, Canada and Australia.
The successful candidate has exceptional technical acumen, exceptional customer/partner empathy, strong project management skills, and demonstrated skills in modern methods. This leader manages engineers across multiple technology platforms and has strong collaboration skills with all disciplines within IT and with internal and external business partners and vendors.
Essential Job Functions:
- Developing the vision and strategic direction for the Enterprise Infrastructure to achieve corporate objectives, with a keen focus on retail operations, carriers, broadband, wireless, data center resiliency and redundancy.
- Engaging internal stakeholders, strategic partners, and operations to ensure effective delivery of infrastructure services.
- Building and executing scalable solutions and processes to support a growing enterprise across diverse geographies.
- Creating and aligning KPIs, goals, and metrics across the portfolio to deliver an exceptional experience for both internal and external customers.
- Managing a budget in excess of $10M annually
- Drive continuous improvements through active management and proven methods to achieve optimal cost of service and increasing levels of customer satisfaction.
- Ensuring effective collaboration with Enterprise cross-functional groups.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- History of leading the technology infrastructure function for a multi-national enterprise. Experience working with field and/or retail organization.
- Strong experience working successfully with managed service providers including but not limited to leading RFP processes, vendor & contract management, negotiating/re-negotiating contracts and creating an environment for mutual success.
- Prior experience in large organizations where scale, relationships, and multi-national footprint complexities are realities and smaller aggressive start-ups where deep market savvy, business expertise and urgency are required.
- Proven track record of building scalable solutions, organization structures and management processes inside a culture of innovation.
- Strong track record of building high performing teams.
Minimum Required Education, Training and Experience:
- BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Architecture, IT or related business field.
- 15 years of infrastructure experience with minimum 10 years management/leadership experience
