Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team. This role is essential to the financial health of our organization, requiring a meticulous individual capable of managing day-to-day financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring the integrity of our accounting processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bookkeeping or accounting, with the ability to multitask and maintain precision in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Record daily financial transactions and complete the posting process, ensuring accuracy in entries.
- Reconcile sales taxes, payroll taxes, 401k contributions, and bank accounts at the end of each month.
- Monitor financial transactions and reports; process accounts receivable and payable in a timely manner.
- Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information.
- Maintain a comprehensive ledger to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
- Coordinate with the accounting team to facilitate the preparation of monthly and yearly closings.
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns, audits, and other accounting activities as necessary.
- Ensure that all financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to improve and streamline accounting processes.
- Provide administrative support to management when required.
Requirements:
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Proven bookkeeping experience, with 1-3 years in a bookkeeping role highly desirable.
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles.
- Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
- Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software; proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and other accounting software.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information with integrity.
