What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cashier/Beertender position at Savory?
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to customers
- Take customer orders and provide recommendations on drink selections
- Maintain a clean and organized bar area
- Check identification to ensure legal drinking age
- Collect payment from customers and process transactions accurately using a cash register
- Monitor customer behavior and ensure responsible alcohol consumption
- Provide excellent customer service and address any customer concerns or complaints
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate food and beverage orders for catering events
Skills:
- Familiarity with Toast POS systems a plus however not required.
- Strong knowledge of retail math, including calculating prices, discounts, and sales tax
- Familiarity with restaurant operations and procedures
- Understanding of brewing methods and different types of alcoholic beverages
- Proficient in basic math skills for measuring ingredients and making accurate drink recipes
- Experience operating a cash register and handling cash transactions
- Knowledge of food handling safety regulations in the food industry
- Excellent hospitality skills to provide a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for customers
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
