The Regional Director is a senior position and responsible for managing, leading, and growing all aspects of the region (Texas Triangle), including developing new clients, performing business development activities, and growing the practice by delivering responsive quality service to new and existing clients. This role will have about 5 direct reports who you will lead in development and mentoring of their large teams.
WHAT IT TAKES

- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of geomatics professionals, setting clear performance objectives, providing regular feedback, and facilitating professional development opportunities for team members.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment, promoting innovation and continuous improvement.
- Development and adherence to strategic company and survey goals while growing the business and maintaining client relationships.
- Coordination with other survey groups throughout the firm on project work and resource sharing.
- Support and promote established and common sense safety practices and procedures designed to protect employees and the public.
- Leads the regional division and project teams to create an action plan for the development and project completion of assigned projects, ensuring projects remain within a specified budget and schedule.
- Responsible for developing annual budgets and forecasts for this business unit within the region, monitoring expenditures and financial performance to ensure profitability and cost-effectiveness.
- Responsible for training and mentoring direct reports, identifying opportunities for operational efficiencies and cost savings, implementing measures to optimize resource utilization and maximize ROI.
- Leverage your network for potential new business engagement and expansion of company brand and services.
- Develops business, prepares proposals and cost estimates, develops, leads and participates in proposal presentations.
- Participates in industry organizations, staying abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices. Ensure the adoption of innovative tools and methodologies within the region.
- Collaborates with the Regional Managers to provide technical guidance and support team members, troubleshooting complex issues and facilitating knowledge sharing across the organization.
- Participates in site visits, agency meetings, and municipal meetings as needed.
- Success requires communication, perception and social skills necessary to genuinely inspire and direct the staff to produce high quality work, to maintain high individual and group morale, and to promote diversity.
WHAT YOUR RESUME SHOWS
- 12 years' experience as a professional surveyor with minimum of 8 years in a leadership role
- Professional Land Surveyor licensure.
- Proven track record in project management
- Must have considerable experience managing project teams and business units performing these types of services and demonstrate the level of decisiveness and directness needed to effectively lead professional and technical staff toward completion of project and business unit.
- Proven experience in proposal preparation, contract and term negotiations, job estimates, and managing budgets.
- Strong management skills with the ability to manage staff, maintain quality control, interact with senior managers of the firm, clients, and regulatory authorities.
- Possess excellent communication, diplomacy and listening skills; specifically, be accessible and responsive to the needs of clients and employees.
- Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle and criminal record.
- Overnight travel required as business dictates.
