The Materials Planning Manager leads the development, implementation, and maintenance of a best in class Supply Planning process resulting in creation, review and communication of accurate material supply plans and coinciding supplier capacity plans. The process and resulting actions ensure the highest level of materials supply service is achieved and maintained both in the short and long term.
Improve at least one skill per year as agreed with manager that will lead to improved job performance; perform at a level to achieve position outcomes. Drive greater PDS leverage across the Materials Planning team and the company to improve overall engagement and improvement.- Drive productivity efforts across Sazerac that lead to lowest landed costs and world-class customer service. Lead the materials planning team to maximize in-stocks, execute on time deliveries and optimize inventory management. These efforts will cross multiple functions from demand forecast accuracy, inventory control and management, procurement, and manufacturing.
- Create, develop and maintain a cross functional Materials Supply Planning team with the goal implementing and documenting best practices across all production facilities. Ensure that the MRP system and Best Practices are in use, is effective, appropriately configured, that data is accurate and issues resolved as required.
- Regularly review supplier 12 month rolling inventory, demand and supply plans identifying and closing gaps in production ensuring continuity of supply. In addition to this, identifying any future capacity shortfalls and escalating the need for capital investing with sufficient lead time to support descisioning and implementation. Work with the suppliers to develop and align methods of measurement, review and reporting.
- Create a culture that is focused on continuous improvement, inclusion, and development. Develop a working environment that attracts, retains and motivates high performing talent. Understand the elements of the culture survey and continually look to develop a culture that supports key questions.
- Evaluate current status of component inventory. Work to establish rules and process around inventory levels that will reduce out of stocks while saving the company money.
- Ensure that the Materials Supply plan accuracy is measured and reported, issues identified and effectively addressed in a timely manner. Reports are meaningful and can be actioned by both internal and external customers.
- Lead best in class MRP planning and Materials Sourcing sourcing. Continually improve Material Planning Systems. Identify and address system weaknesses by modifying existing software or implementing new tools. Ensure that all suppliers are producing the right materials at the right time to meet customer service and inventory targets. Ensure flawless change mgt execution by our global partners.
- Ensures that all material needs, either forecasted or short notice requirements are incorporated into the supply plans in advance of supplier lead times. Works with suppliers to fit in short notice demand to avoid OOS's. Build out systems and processes with suppliers that deliver visibility into need and availability and allow for immediate systematic escalation of issues.
- Take responsibility for developing and managing an obsolete parts process ensure that waste and liability is avoided. Put systems in place that minimize overall raw material inventory and complexity to reduce holding costs.
