Your Next Career Opportunity – Technical Writer
The Technical Writer is a skilled and experienced writer with strong communications skills that will be responsible for working on technical documentation, performing research analysis, and information design, including but not limited to standard operating procedures (SOPs), technical manuals, process flowcharts, and FAQs. The incumbent will also collaborate with software developers, cross-functional teams and subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather, write and publish technical documentation.
What You Will Do – Primary Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise and departmental technical documentation.
- Experience creating diagrams, screenshots, workflows, and graphs with attention to detail.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts including: developers, engineers, business analysts, contractors, and project managers to determine end-user documentation needs.
- Create high-level architecture documentation to meet the technology needs that may include data centers, infrastructure, cloud SaaS, or web-based technology.
- Consult with IT team members to evaluate system interfaces, operational requirements, and performance requirements of applications/systems.
- Generate materials to facilitate understanding of our technology and processes, internally and externally.
- Identify and rework existing content where relevant.
- Translate complex technical information into content that is easy to understand and polished.
- Develop customer-facing documentation e.g. user guides, and training manuals.
- Prepare software documentation, i.e., release notes, patch descriptions, technical manuals, etc.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need – Qualifications & Requirements
- Associate's Degree Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing or related field preferred;
- and 3-5 years of related experience required.
- Experience in writing technical documentation, understanding of coding languages and API documentation.
- Demonstrated knowledge and advanced proficiency working with Microsoft Office Suite software including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Outlook.
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: $50,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
