Job Description:
Hope Community Inc is seeking a dedicated and experienced Building Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of an affordable housing/section 8 building. The Building Manager will play a crucial role in supporting tenants, maintaining positive tenant relations, and ensuring compliance with all relevant housing regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Asset Management, property management, and Maintenance departments to provide comprehensive support to tenants.
- Act as a liaison between the tenant association and the building, addressing and resolving all concerns promptly.
- Provide exceptional customer service by responding quickly and courteously to resident concerns and questions.
- Collaborate with Compliance to review and process paperwork related to move-ins, move-outs, certifications, recertifications, and internal transfers, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
- Maintain tenant relations and ensure that tenants understand their rights and responsibilities within the community.
- Stay updated on the latest local, state, and federal housing regulations and guidelines related to project-based section 8 affordable housing and tax credits.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, showcasing active listening and the ability to maintain interpersonal relationships.
- Lead others in delivering outstanding customer service.
- Willingness to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
