What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director/Producer, SCADFILM position at SCAD?
As the director/producer for SCADFILM, you will research, vet, and evaluate event content and workshops. Responsibilities include programming and producing in-person, virtual, and hybrid events with budgetary confines in mind; collaboratively managing virtual pre-production tasks and social media content for SCADFILM accounts; creating content for newsletters and the website; and acting as a SCADFILM representative at events and with internal partners. In this position you will be required to establish relationships with industry organizations, guilds, associations, and groups and coordinate content and guests with faculty and staff.
Additionally, you will be required to train and prepare event moderators and hosts while also acting as a host during events. Other responsibilities of the director/producer include overseeing and supporting SCADFILM staff, coordinating and executing educational presentations and sessions, collaborating with industry guests to create suitable presentation materials, and providing production support for live and virtual events produced by other SCAD departments as directed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least five years of experience with film, television, and/or entertainment-related festival production
- Experience and success with live and virtual event production in a creative leadership role and effective social media promotion
- Proven experience with content research and development
- Experience with staff and crew management for large productions and events in an operations role
- Knowledge, experience, and success networking within film industry with enthusiasm for film, TV, animation, screenwriting, and gaming
Travel Required:
- 10% to 20%
Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
