Position Overview:
As the Warehouse Operator, you will be responsible for assist in the daily function of receiving, loading, and preparing, of vehicles and general cargo, for international shipping.
Essential Job Functions:
Assist receiving by checking condition of vehicle and cargo, as well as prepare and load vehicles and cargo into overseas container for export.
- Preparing cargo for export.
- Loading / Unloading cargo into/ from Overseas Shipping Containers.
- Receive cargo, issue condition reports, take receiving pictures.
- Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or other designated areas. Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence.
- May be assigned facilities maintenance duties as needed. Sweep, dust, and mop.
- Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.
- Training will be provided.
Qualifications/ Requirements:
- Forklift license is preferred – must be able to certify withing first six months of hire.
- Must have full proficiency of the English language (read, writ, converse). Spanish is a plus.
- Must be able to drive a stick shift vehicle and have a valid driver license.
- Must have excellent communication skills, self-motivated and time management skills, basic computer literacy and mathematical skills, organized, thorough and attentive to detail, and working well with others in a fast-paced environment to ensure shipping and receiving deadlines are met, and operate appropriate machinery.
- Basic Computer skills.
- Employees should have experience in operation of a table saw, nail gun and basic tools.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift / push loads up to 75 lbs.
- Must be able to lift, bend, or stand for long periods of time.
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
