What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Desk Coordinator position at SCENT?
Our Front Desk Coordinator is typically the first face the patient sees as they come to our practice. We need candidates that are articulate and can serve as ambassadors to our patients and their families.
Duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Welcomes and greets all patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner, in person and over the phone.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized reception area.
- Responsible for reviewing and distributing incoming fax messages in a timely manner.
- Registers new patients and updates existing patient demographic information.
- Reviews insurance eligibility for each patient at check-in.
- Facilitates patient flow by notifying clinical teams of patient arrival and being aware of and communicating delays to patients.
- Responsible for maintaining an awareness of patients in the reception area to ensure they are serviced in a timely manner.
- Responds to inquiries by patients, prospective patients, and visitors in a courteous manner.
- Responsible for maintaining an adequate supply of office supplies for the Front Desk and Check-out areas.
- Manages incoming medical records requests.
- Responsible for collecting and posting patient payments received at the Front Desk.
- Assists check-out, when necessary, by scheduling routine follow-up appointments for departing patients.
- This position will report to multiple locations throughout the Midlands area.
