Scentral Zone is an exciting, new startup in Edina, Minnesota. We are revolutionizing the way people benefit from aromatherapy with single-use, wearable essential oil diffusers. We believe there is no idea without merit, and are always looking for innovative ways to expand our product lines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (preferred)

• Experience in research and development of essential oils or other plant extracts or natural products

• Knowledge of formulating essential oil blends and their applications

• Understanding of how oils work together to provide holistic healing benefits

• A positive attitude, passion for innovation, desire to work for a startup, and willingness to help in all areas of manufacturing and production

• Excellent organizational, analytical, and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Design and create essential oil blends in a collaborative laboratory environment using strong scientific and creative skills

• Help to brainstorm and develop new products by initiating research to identify consumer needs and aromatherapy trends

• Design product formulas according to healing properties, specific use, aroma profiles, safety and cost

• Oversee lab and manufacturing processes, ensuring organization and good storage conditions of supplies and inventory, and assisting with cleaning and sanitation

• Create and maintain blend sheets and documents for products and record keeping, maintaining quality controls and accuracy in documentation

• Create and adhere to processes/procedures in development of essential oil blends

• Order specific oils, supplies and equipment to be used in development and production

• Troubleshoot and solve technical challenges that are typically encountered in the development of fragrance and oil blends

• Research and interpret data and information for the development of blends

• Create and maintain documentation of all oils used, their chemical profiles, uses, and technical descriptors

• Exercise understanding of essential oil regulation, safety, and quality standards

• Ability to handle being exposed to smell and a variety of flavor products, essential oils and raw materials

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $10.33 - $38.33 per hour
