As the Construction Field Services Manager, you will lead our highly trained team of Inventory Field Specialists who provide on-site inventory solutions to customers. You will work directly with Inventory Management, Distribution, and Sales teams to help drive Schaedler Yesco’s on-site services while helping to craft a best-in-class team!

Summary/ Objective:

This position leads the implementation and execution of the IMS/SIMS program at the job site level.

Essential Functions:

  • Assure the accuracy and organization of the customer’s inventory by conducting regular site audits. Inventory should be organized, and all labels should be placed on bins and shelving and be current.
  • Conduct regular departmental meetings for planning, and reviewing policies, processes, and procedures. Encourage feedback to uncover and solve problems while making improvements that positively impact efficiency and improve the customer service experience.
  • Coordinate, plan, and schedule customer coverage activities for Field Service personnel. Each customer account should have a primary and a secondary assignment to ensure coverage due to illness or paid leave.
  • Perform joint travel activities with Field Sales reps to observe that customer locations or SIMS assets are properly maintained, clean, and organized. Also, observe Field Sales rep’s professionalism and interaction with customers.
  • Maintain a limited account base to service. Perform as a backup when necessitated by staffing issues.
  • Develop relationships with key customer field personnel including project managers, field supervisors, electricians, storeroom personnel, and purchasing agents.
  • Make sure all Field Sales Representatives are following Schaedler Yesco’s safety requirements and that they are also following job site safety rules outlined by OSHA and other governing bodies.
  • Schedule training for staff that includes Eclipse training, product training, and customer service training. Encourage the team to meet corporate guidelines for training requirements.
  • The IMS/SIMS Operations Manager is responsible for initiating all the operational tasks on the “start-up” job queue.
  • Communicate new IMS or SIMS opportunities with Schaedler Yesco Logistics and Territory Managers. Provide the scope of the project and record any initial concerns. Work to provide a remedy to concerns prior to the start of the project.
  • Schedule and coordinate internal “pre-job” meetings to outline details and expectations. Participants of this meeting should include the Business Development Specialist, the IMS/SIMS Administrative Manager, the Outside Sales Representative, the Services Manager, the appropriate Territory Manager, the SYD Driver Manager, the Field Specialist, the appropriate IMS/SIMS coordinator, and the responsible CFIS personnel.
  • Act as the main point of contact for IMS/SIMS issues dealing with SYD logistics.
  • Handle concerns from SYD drivers including, but not limited to, safety, access to, and condition of SYD asset(s).
  • Participates in the “on-site” job meeting with the customer to review on-site expectations and cover any nuances to servicing the job site.
  • Review Open Order Reports prepared by the Administrative Manager. Distribute reports to Field Specialists for their review and to use the information to adjust inventory levels on the job site.
  • Monitor staff activities to guarantee all customer requests are being responded to and answered in a timely and professional manner.
  • Identify opportunities to promote and sell additional SYD services. Support initiatives and programs to provide and grow add-on sales.
  • Provide a regular update to the Outside Sales Representative on the progress of the project and discuss any potential issues or concerns.
  • Communicate with the IMS/SIMS Administration Manager on inventory-level issues at the customer’s site.
  • Primarily responsible for closing out the job, scheduling the return of material, and scheduling the return of SYD assets.
  • Continually evaluate the department for process improvement and make suggestions on how to implement these recommendations.
  • Coordinate with the Western IMS/SIMS Operations Manager to share best practices and work towards similar business practices between geographical territories.

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • This position is a supervisory role, and the following roles report directly to the IMS/SIMS Field Operations Manager:
    • IMS/SIMS Field Specialists

Work Environment:

This job primarily operates with frequent visits to both construction and industrial facilities with the balance of time in an office setting. Temperatures do vary based on job location/site. OSHA guidelines as well as site-specific safety guidelines must be always followed. Appropriate PPE needs to be worn which includes hard hats, safety vests, safety glasses, fireproof clothing (in certain locations), and steel-toe shoes.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have:

  • the ability to stand, walk for moderately long distances, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) weight up to 50-75lbs (conduit and wire)
  • Move material from an outdoor trailer to an indoor job box.
  • Work outside in inclement weather
  • Ability to use a keyboard and type proficiently.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Travel:

Some overnight travel is required, and the employee can reasonably expect on average 10-15% potential overnight travel to meet the demands of the position. Should travel be required a valid driver's license with a clean driving record is necessary for this position.

Clearances and Certifications:

  • Various clearances will be required for specific customer sites.
  • U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status is required.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
