Job Description

Schnabel is looking for Pile drivers to help install piling for excavation support. The main skills required include welding and cutting/burning with oxygen and acetylene torch. Other typical pile driving activities associated with sheeting and shoring include but are not limited to stud weld for lagging or cutting of boards with a chainsaw for lagging or underpinning.
Minimum (PPE) required. Pile Drivers work with a variety of hand and portable power tools, and frequently cut, join and fasten metal construction materials using welding equipment and oxy-acetylene torches.
Job Responsibilities (not inclusive):
- Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials
- Load, unload, or identify building materials, machinery, or tools, distributing them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans or specifications (rigging)
- Drilling and setting of pile with use of caisson or other type drill rig
- Welding of Connections (safety railing, tiebacks, internal bracing, etc.)
- Shooting Grades and/or layout of work •Chainsaw use and maintenance (for lagging or underpinning)
Qualifications
- Safety-conscious
- Preference is given for experience with forklifts, small earth moving equipment such as mini excavators, or skid steer loaders.
Typical Physical Demands:
- Ability to climb, crouch, balance, squat and tolerate heights without fear due to nature of job typically outside with often uneven and/or muddy ground
- Must have the ability to exert heavy physical effort, handling average weight objects up to 50 lbs.
Working Conditions/Environment:
- Work in levels of noise, dust, moisture and temperatures normally found on construction sites
- Work in confined space
