This opportunity is a home-based with reoccurring travel to conduct employee training, field audits, mishap investigations, etc. This role reports to the Director, Safety and Environment, US Services and supports all regional operations and business units within the geographical area.
As a Regional Safety Manager, a typical day for you might include:
- Lead by example by demonstrating Schneider I.M.P.A.C.T. Values in every aspect of the U.S. Service business unit to reinforce a behavioral based safety culture.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with U.S. Services Safety Team, Global Safety Team members, internal regional business directors and managers, and Service Representatives.
- Develop and update annual advanced electrical safety training plan in collaboration with the Services Safety Team members.
- Deliver advanced electrical safety training to field employees and managers with partial support from the Services Safety Team
- Provide guidance and support to approximately 250 Service Representatives, as needed.
- Oversee and coordinate/conduct Field Service Representative field audits, often with regional directors and/or managers
- Assists Director, Safety and Environment, US Services with development, publishing and training of safety and environmental programs consistent with regulations and company policy.
- Directly support Strategic VIP Customer Accounts to foster a positive safety relationship while ensuring the safety of Schneider Electric employees.
- Assist with creation of job hazard analysis for work tasks.
- Thoroughly investigate incidents and collaborate on corrective action.
- Work with regional and global peers to ensure North America wide standardization and practice.
- Maintains required records, prepares reports and files as necessary to meet corporate and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in providing direction and leading Safety Committees for your area of responsibility.
- Opportunities to participate on regional, North America and Global safety committees and initiatives.
- College degree or equivalent work experience directly related to Safety, Health and Environmental regulations and policies.
- Experience with electrical safety, ergonomics, and remote worker hazards a plus.
- Experience working with teams to achieve improved results, which are measured through Target Zero safety incidents and 100% compliance with all mandates.
- Professional Certifications such as Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification, are preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to proficiently address multiple tasks in a timely manner
- Must be organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and cognizant of satisfying deadlines
- Skilled in use of Microsoft Office platform.
- Travel via auto and air up to 25-40% of time.
- Must maintain a valid state vehicle operator’s license.
