Schneider Electric Smart Grid Solutions, LLC seeks a Sr. ADMS Data Architect in Houston, TX.
Job Description: Use product and industry experience to work with a project team on the design, implementation, and testing of components on Schneider Electric Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) projects. Lead data design and model build during project execution of ADMS for distribution utilities from beginning to end of project implementation. Ensure that the ADMS solution fits customer business goals set throughout the lifecycle of an ADMS project. Gather requirements, analyze risks, and guide customer on implementation of ADMS software. Ensure that all the data required for an ADMS implementation is successfully identified in source systems, mapped to the ADMS model, integrated/migrated to ADMS in the most cost-effective way, stored effectively/securely and validated for agreed functionality which fits customer business goals. Work with project team members and directly with customer to diagnose issues with the functionality, data quality, and performance of Schneider Electric's ADMS software in various testing phases of the project and then into critical production environments. Work with colleagues in the product center to prioritize features requests from the customer to help ensure on time delivery and with accurate scope. Train colleagues on network model aspects of Schneider Electric's ADMS software. Maintain internal test systems used to validate changes to against simulated environments of customer systems. Mentor project engineers on data best practices and lessons learned from previous project implementations.
Requirements: Position requires a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Power Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field and progressive, post-bachelor’s experience (3 years with Master’s or 5 years with Bachelor’s) in data architecting, engineering, or related occupation, which must include at least some experience in the following skills: Implementing ADMS projects in the Electrical Utility industry by analyzing business requirements, navigating design and development processes, performing testing, and supporting Network Model build; Leading technical work flows focused on data architecture on ADMS projects; Modeling electrical networks in support of ADMS applications, such as SCADA monitoring and control, Outage Management System, and Advanced Applications; Source data mapping and integration using ETL tools, CIM standards for electrical network model, SQL, Python, and widely used GIS systems (such as ESRI, Smallworld, etc.); Performing data migration, commissioning, and governance to lead electrical model build execution; Establishing model maintenance processes; Data validation and model tuning, including integrity checks, network topology validation, load flow convergence validation checks, and state estimation tuning; and Mentoring and upskilling other engineers, including developing mentoring programs for data engineers and providing formal and informal training to more junior engineers.
