What are the responsibilities and job description for the PACT Preschool position at School City of Hammond?
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education
- Valid Indiana Educator’s License
- Valid Kindergarten Endorsement
Specific Responsibilities of Teaching Position:
- Prepare and implement lesson plans
- Utilize curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served
- Use data from formal and informal assessments to drive instructional decisions
- Meet course and school-wide student performance goals
- Provide individualized, small group, and whole group instruction based upon student’s needs
- Observe and evaluate student's performance
- Maintain a safe and positive classroom atmosphere conducive to student learning
- Manage student behavior in accordance with building expectations
- Communicate student progress to parents/guardians
- Follow School City of Hammond policies and guidelines
- Participate in professional development opportunities
- Conduct hand to hand arrival and dismissal with your students and their parents/guardians
- Facilitate gross motor activities indoors and outdoors during the school day
- Collaborate and work closely with the PACT paraprofessional in your classroom
- Collaborate and work closely with the SCH PACT team of educators
- Work hand in hand with parents/guardians to help prepare the PACT students for kindergarten academically, behaviorally, and socially/emotionally.
- Collaborate on parent workshops as outlined for the PACT program
- Follow the daily and yearly schedule of work outlined by the PACT program (plan time and school/PD days differ from the SCH calendar)
