What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cheerleading coach position at School District of Clayton?
Wydown Middle School serves a diverse body of approximately 650 students. We believe that participation in athletics and extracurricular activities has a positive effect on student success.
- Coach individual participants in the skills necessary for achievement in the activity
- Coordinates all aspects of the activity such as, but not limited to, practices and games
- Assumes responsibility for the regulations under Title IX
- Maintain responsibility for maintenance and proper utilization of facilities
- Ability to promote and maintain strong parental and community involvement
- Assists in selecting, assigning, and evaluating all activity personnel for the activity
- Ability to prepare an activity budget
- Establishes the performance criteria for participation in an interscholastic activity
- Recommends purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms
- Maintains appropriate and accurate records for each activity
- Responsibility for the safety, conduct, and general welfare of students
- Maintains high standards of student conduct
- Inventories and maintains equipment
- Prepare appropriate reports as required by the District and the State
- Represents the District on the appropriate committees
- Maintains regular attendance
- Maintains confidentiality, unquestionable integrity
Position : Part-time temporary, season specific.
Education : Bachelor's Degree preferred. 36 college credit hours needed.
Certification : Coaches are required to hold a valid substitute certificate with The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (36 or more hours of college credit required).
Experience : One year of teaching and one year of coaching preferred. Working with school-aged children and background in education is strongly desired.
Benefits : Not Eligible.
FLSA Status : Exempt, Professional Exemption-Teacher.
