JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB GOAL:
To acquire, prepare, and produce live/live to tape programming for broadcast and classroom use. Assist to increase competency and use of effective television technology with students and instructional staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited educational institution in Communications, Broadcast Television Production, Film Production, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Video Production, Broadcasting, or film.
- Valid Florida Driver's License.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Extensive knowledge of live multi camera video production. Strong understanding of live video production. Ability to use live broadcast equipment (switchers, character generators, audio mixers, EFP Cameras). Knowledge of the placement of cameras, microphones, and production equipment for live video productions. Pre-record and ready all necessary audio/video materials to be used during live production. Ability to direct/technical direct production. Ability to utilize relative computer equipment, instructional software, broadcast equipment, and post-production technology. Ability to coach/train students on filming live video productions including performances, sports and events. Ability to develop and manage budgets. Ability to work independently and to make decisions with minimum supervision. Ability to schedule time, prioritize, and work efficiently. Ability to handle multiple tasks in stressful situations with ease and efficiency. Ability to work cooperatively and deal tactfully with departmental officials and employees of the School Board. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees and organizations. Ability to express oneself clearly and concisely, orally and in writing. Ability to understand and adhere to technical directives and instructions.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with High School instructors and students to create programming for the district’s cable channel as well as with the MTC Digital Video Production.
- Provide training in the use of equipment as used in the classroom.
- Create Schedules, Rundowns, and other Pre-production documents for live video productions.
- Communicate with team members to provide high quality programs.
- Collaborate with team members for interesting and informative programs.
- Monitor equipment condition and requisition repairs as needed.
- Utilize live video production equipment (Tricaster, Blackmagic, Broadcast Pix) to broadcast events live on Manatee Schools Television and other online platforms.
- Understanding of SRT video transmission equipment and connection to live streaming platforms.
- Edit video on nonlinear equipment.
- Demonstrate initiative in the performance of assigned responsibilities.
- Shoot, edit and create original programs, instructional video, and graphics for programming on the cable channels, EBS, and internet including events and activities of the District as directed.
- Strong visual storyteller with an understanding of NPPA style.
- Collaborate with team members for informative and entertaining programs.
- Produce promotional spots for the channels related to programming, public service announcements and District events.
- Assist in programming and controlling playout servers.
- Keep the Supervisor up to date on issues and concerns.
- Assist the supervisor in designing marketing plan and distribution of marketing materials.
- Assist the supervisor in researching customer needs and creating a programming plan to fulfill the cable strategic plan.
- Assist the supervisor in community outreach, presentations and building viewership.
- Maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and vendors.
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and vendors.
- Follow all School Board policies, rules, and regulations.
- Demonstrate support for the School District and its goals and priorities.
- Follow attendance, punctuality, and proper dress rules.
- Ensure adherence to good safety standards.

- Perform other tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of this position.
- Weekly work schedule will be determined based off event schedule. This will include nights and weekends.
- On Call 24/7.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force and/or up to 10 pounds of force as needed to move objects.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District’s approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the District.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
