Summary:
As a Behavior Specialist, you will provide individualized behavioral support services to students and consultation with consumers. Your role involves conducting assessments, developing intervention programs, training staff, and analyzing data to support behavior management. This is a part-time contract position that will require between 5 - 10 hours per month for the high school and then 5 - 10 hours per month for the elementary school.
What you will be doing:
- Conduct assessments, develop intervention programs, and provide recommendations.
- Train staff in positive behavior supports and proactive approaches to behavior management.
- Analyze data, revise intervention plans, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
- Serve as an advocate for students and provide research-based interventions.
- Attend behavior-related meetings, trainings, and conferences.
- Perform other responsibilities as directed by the Principals.
Experience you will need:
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst(BCBA) with coursework and experience inSpecial Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, Behavioral Science, or a related field.
- At least 1 to 3 years of experience working in a behavior modification program with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Knowledge and experience with appliedbehavior analysis.
- Detailed knowledge of the basic needs of individuals with developmental disabilities and behavioral challenges.
- Proficiency in Applied Behavior Analysis, supervision, and consultation.
- Effective communication skills with staff and consumers.
- Collaborative work approach within interdisciplinary teams.
- Ability to provide feedback, maintain confidentiality, and establish positive relationships.
- Physical capability to perform activities like lifting and supporting adults.
- Adherence to professional standards and policies.
