Job Summary:
The School of Dentistry's mission is to improve oral health through excellence in education, research, patient care, and community engagement. In support of the school's mission, the Chief of Staff will manage specific initiatives and/or special projects for the Dean. This role provides high level administrative and executive duties concerning the special projects, programs, and Initiatives and collaborates with the Marketing & Communications departments in the creation of executive-level communications including talks, speeches, reports, and presentations.
Job Duties:
- Interacts on behalf of the Dean with colleagues across the schools and campus to ensure alignment of special projects and initiatives developed or initiated by the Dean.
- Coordinates and interacts with senior leaders and executives, external affiliate leadership, and other external partners on a diverse range of strategic, operational, and organizational matters as it pertains to the Dean’s work or as directed by the Dean.
- Works with the Dean to organize, coordinate or execute communications of the Dean's office and directs relative internal/external communications in coordination with the Office of Communications and/or Marketing.
- Manages the execution of special projects undertaken by the Dean, as well as handling questions, concerns, issues, and requests.
- Assists to coordinate schedules and prepares itineraries for special meetings/events including executive searches or special visits to the campus for the Dean.
- Assists the Dean and/or senior administration with the coordination with the strategic management processes or activities critical to achieving strategic planning goals.
- Prepares and/or contributes with the preparation of reports, proposals, briefing, presentation, and responses on institutional and strategic issues.
- Provides principal management support resulting in the seamless functioning and management of the Dean’s priorities and/or special projects.
- Researches and evaluates new initiatives for domestic and international projects.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Health Administration, Business Administration or Management is required.
- Master's degree is preferred.
Experience:
- Ten (10) years of related experience is required.
