What You'll Be Doing

Responsible for planning, directing and overseeing the overall management of the operational processes of the department. Assists in the implementation of third party administration for school districts, enhances and maintains relationships with the team members, branches and educational community. Ensures the delivery of superior Member service and products to the Members and team members.


  • Oversee the technical guidance and training to branch/departments, school districts and school employees on retirement products; monitors regulatory and policy changes and takes appropriate action to ensure compliance with outside regulators. Oversee and make recommendations as to any changes, updates in regulations, forms, methods and systems and direct the implementation.
  • Maintains relationships with all third party contracted and partners included but not limited to data processor, legal counsel, the Department of Education and the district offices.
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of retirement products including but not limited to, all IRA products, 457(b), 403(b), State Teachers Retirement and Public Employees Retirement System. Maintains FINRA Series 6, 63 and65 or 7, 66 as well as 24 licenses and Insurance Licenses where appropriate.
Additional Job Functions
  • Provides daily support to staff, including answering questions and problem resolution, communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; training, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.
  • Accomplishes financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures and analyzing variances.
  • Contributes to organizational goals and priorities as a member of Management team. Establishes and implements plans that have short-term (1-2 year) impact on business results in alignment with organization objectives.
  • Evaluates operating procedures and policies, ensuring the highest levels of Member service, productivity and internal control.
  • Initiates, researches, coordinates and implements department or division projects intended to benefit Members, internal teammembers or department operations.
  • Ensures compliance with state and federal laws as well as any other applicable regulations.
  • Understands the credit union organizational goals and key performance indicators and takes the necessary actions to achieve desired results.


  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with regulatory compliance and assigned training requirements including but not limited to BSA regulations corresponding to their specific job duties. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary and other employment related actions

Qualifications
  • Required High School Diploma or GED
  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience
  • 5-7 years of previous related experience Required
  • 1-3 years previous management experience Required
  • Previous experience in the investments and securities industry Required
  • Securities and Insurance Licenses
  • FINRA Series 6, 63 and 65 or 7, 66 as well as 24 licenses and California Department of Insurance Licenses
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • In depth knowledge of government sponsored retirement products to include but not limited to IRA's, 403(b), 457 (Deferred Compensation), STRS and PERS
