The Boat Captain safely and effectively operates and manages the M/V Naiad, her crew and passengers while carrying out the sea scattering service provided to our guests. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES In command of the vessel and of standing the navigational watch Ensures safety of vessel, crew, and passengers Maintains good order and accountability of all crew and passengers Operates vessel in compliance with all regulations required by the USCG MINIMUM Requirements Education Training at accredited maritime institutions or equivalent on the job training College degree preferred Certification/License 100 Ton Inland or Near Coastal Masters License FCC radio operators permit Radar certification Experience 2 years of previous captain experience Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Rules and Regulations provided by the USCG Working knowledge of vessels and all machinery and instruments on board Safe practices and good seamanship is a must. Work CONDITIONS Work Environment Work in a dynamic environment of changing weather and sea conditions Professional, timely, and respectful Comply with professional maritime dress code Work Postures Frequent, continuous periods of time standing, climbing ladders, walking and sitting Physical Demands Lifting, pushing, pulling, etc. up to 50 pounds Work Hours Working “standard” hours and weekends.
