What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineer, Computer II position at Scientific Research Corporation?

MINIMUM SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance
  • Three (3) years of experience in computer design, software development or computer networks
  • Ability to interact with the customer and translate their requirements into system, hardware, and software requirements and design
  • Ability to ensure designs are acceptable and in line with the government's stated requirements

DESIRED SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Three (3) years of technical experience in support of Electronic Security Systems (ESS)
  • Certified in at least one of the following:
    • A CE
    • Cisco Certified Network Associate Security (CCNA-Security)
    • Certified Network Defender (CND)
    • Network CE
    • Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)

SRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT, THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AS WELL AS, A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE TOP SECRET / SCI LEVEL

FILLING THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON FUNDING

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Evaluates new hardware and software solutions, making recommendations and novel solutions for challenging problems in the areas of operational networks
  • Works directly with technical personnel to resolve technical challenges to support and enhance the systems described above
  • Communicates and further diagnoses function related problems presented by various employees who possess varying levels of IT experience
  • Evaluates, prototypes, provides proof of concept integration, and performs testing and performance validation
  • Documents their findings and determines suitability within an operational environment
  • Develops and demonstrates high-level strategies to introduce updated hardware and software into production environments
  • Reviews for commonly failing instruments, determining whether the internal components are accessible, commercially available, and replaceable, and makes fiscal responsible recommendations to management for course of action
