Why this role:

You will be having a true impact on moving the therapies and cure for Alzheimer’s forward by working with the Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation. Founded in 1998 by Leonard A. and Ronald S. Lauder, the ADDF is dedicated to rapidly accelerating the discovery of drugs to prevent, treat, and cure Alzheimer's disease. The ADDF is the only public charity solely focused on funding the development of drugs for Alzheimer's, employing a venture philanthropy model to support research in academia and the biotech industry. Through the generosity of its donors, the ADDF has awarded more than $168 million to fund over 650 Alzheimer's drug discovery and biomarker programs and clinical trials in 19 countries.

You will lead a team of S&E neuroscientists. You will head the efforts in identifying, evaluating, shaping, executing, and managing innovative investment opportunities for ADDF’s therapeutics pipeline. The S&E team interacts with biotech and biopharma companies, academic institutions, venture firms, and other stakeholders from the life sciences industry ecosystem, for exploration of potential investment opportunities. S&E is responsible for conducting all scientific/technical due diligence to ensure an in-depth understanding of the science behind each of these opportunities.

You will bring the following to the role:

• PhD, MD, MD/PhD in a Life Sciences, with emphasis on Neuroscience, and a strong business mind-set.
• 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry required, of which a minimum of 5 years is in Clinical Development for Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. Must possess deep experience and understanding of clinical trials.
• Practical experience in Search & Evaluation, Business Development, venture capital, technology transfer, or other partnering-focused professional experience.
• Demonstrated project management/leadership skills to lead/manage teams in evaluating investment opportunities and producing high-quality assessments of scientific and therapeutic hypotheses, as well as preclinical and clinical data.
