Contributes significantly to the development of program strategies, and oversees execution of initiatives and programs based on those strategies and priorities
Assumes broad authority and responsibility to formulate, approve and implement policies and procedures within assigned program areas

Provides leadership and direction through other managers or senior contributors; leads cross-departmental or multidisciplinary teams; oversees highly complex projects or work processes within assigned program areas

JOB FAMILY: ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Defines program’s annual goals, and allocates staff roles and budget to achieve annual targeted metrics
Sets individual performance objectives with manager, and communicates his/her objectives with direct reports to clarify his/her focus for the year
Provides ongoing supervision and coaching to management staff to ensure optimal team performance and delivery of program goals
Manages the Performance and Talent Management initiatives within assigned program areas to support SCO’s long-term workforce planning activities
Engages with multiple external stakeholders to promote SCO and his/her program’s value and contribution to SCO’s mission
Works with internal stakeholders to ensure effective communication and delivery of services against established stakeholder requirements
JOB TITLE: ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Oversee all aspects of development, marketing and communications system wide with the goal of maximizing contributed income from all sources and promoting the mission, identity and accomplishments of SCO Family of Services to the broadest possible public constituency
Oversee all marketing materials including development-specific brochures, publications, website, social media, press materials and activities
Conceptualize, plan and oversee all fundraising and public events related to development (both Individual and Institutional Giving)
Develop short- and long-term fundraising, marketing and communications strategy and tactics
Manage budget, sets goals, provides analysis and forecasts based on organizational status and fundraising landscape, trends, etc.
Staff liaison to the Board Committee for Development and Marketing
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
Development, execution, and monitoring of performance metrics to ascertain the effectiveness of the Development Department against the goals set by the Board and the requirements of the organization and its regulatory bodies
Provision of fundraising and development efforts in accordance with best practice standards
Formal and information feedback from the Board regarding performance and contribution to the goals and long-term strategies of the Development Department

Qualifications - External
Bachelor's Degree required
Minimum of 7 years’ experience in development and executive leadership, preferably
with a human services organization. Fundraising skills including relationship-building with different constituencies, excellent attention to detail and the ability to think strategically and creatively
Understanding and appreciation for systems and promoting institutional memory
Comfort interacting with High Net Worth Individuals and Board of Directors
Excellent social and interpersonal skills and comfort speaking in public
Be a flexible, skilled problem-solver and self-starter
Sense of humor
Familiarity with social media platforms
Ability to work interactively and collaborate as a team
Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office, database and internet applications, Raisers Edge preferred
