What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pricing Actuary - Casualty position at SCOR?
The pricing actuary will serve as a key member of the US P&C Treaty pricing team supporting business written by the US Casualty Underwriting team. Their primary responsibility is to price US Casualty treaties, advise the underwriting team on important pricing matters, conduct pricing-related studies, and develop and maintain pricing models and parameters.
This position could be also staffed at the AVP or VP level, depending on the experience of the candidate.
- Work closely with underwriters to analyze and price reinsurance contracts, quantify the impact of contract features, provide an understanding of the key risk loss drivers and interpret KPIs and pricing volatilities.
- The US casualty portfolio covers a broad range of lines of business including but not limited to general liability, commercial auto, umbrella, excess liability, cyber, D&O, and E&O.
- Perform pricing-related studies to stay up to date with new/emerging knowledge in actuarial pricing as well as in respect of major market and underwriting-related issues.
- Develop and update pricing parameters including loss trends, rate changes, loss development factors, benchmark loss ratios, etc. Help quantify the impact of updated pricing parameters.
- Manage, maintain, and enhance the Rate Adequacy Tool and respond to ad-hoc data requests
- Assist in studies to improve pricing methodology, monitoring portfolio, and creating portfolio monitoring tools.
- Contribute ideas to improve the efficiency of pricing process.
- 3 years of P&C pricing experience with exposure to large account pricing and/or reinsurance preferred
- Proficiency in Excel, SQL, R, Python, or similar
- Strong analytical skills and ability to manipulate or handle large datasets
- BS in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
- Passed at least 3 CAS Actuarial Exams

Actual salaries may vary based on various factors including but not limited to experience, exams passed, and attained designations or certifications. The range listed is just one component of SCOR’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $85,000 - $140,000 salary pay year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards.
